Delete your account and data

This page explains how to delete your Penzo account and the data associated with it. You can do this yourself inside the app, or request deletion without the app.

Option 1 — Delete from inside the app (instant)

Open Penzo.
Go to the Settings tab.
Tap your account at the top, then open the ⋮ menu.
Tap Delete account and confirm.

This permanently:

Deletes your Penzo account from Firebase Authentication (your name, email, and account ID), and
Erases all data stored on your device — expenses, incomes, categories, budgets, recurring items, and bill reminders.

This action cannot be undone. If you want to keep a copy, export a backup first (Settings → Data → Export).

Option 2 — Request deletion without the app

If you can no longer access the app, email us and we will delete your account:

Email: penzo.ackerman@gmail.com
Subject: Delete my Penzo account
Please send the email from the same Google account you used to sign in, so we can verify the request.

We will delete your account within 30 days of a verified request.

What gets deleted

What we keep

We do not store your financial data on our servers, so there is nothing further to delete there. Anonymous, pseudonymous app-usage and crash diagnostics (which never contain your financial data or your name) may be retained by Firebase in aggregate according to Google's standard retention periods.
